Providing out of town families with children suffering from cancer a 'haven' .. a place to stay where they are looked after and nurtured.
These people have come from out of town and have very little or no money and no place to stay. If their children are not seriously ill they cannot stay at the hospital and sometimes even despite the fact that their child is being treated at the hospital they have no place to stay and no money to arrange for a place to stay.
We at
CanKids provide these children with medical assistance, educational assistance. We
have a Haven - Educational-recreational centre where the children come to play and learn. Now our
endeavour is to expand this exercise into a 'Haven' .a home away from home where the families can stay and we can give these children and their families the love and the care they need besides being treated at the hospital for cancer.
The basic philosophy of running the haven is volunteer based, where people from all walks of life/ professions pitch in not just monetarily but by giving their time and love to make the lives of these children easier.
